Book Review: Diary of a Fly by Doreen Cronin

20130810-114312.jpgToday I am writing a quick review of one of my favorite children’s books that I recommend to everyone! It is called Diary of a Fly by Doreen Cronin. When I was a preschool teacher, working with children aged 3-4, they LOVED the book.

This picture book is written from a fly’s point of view in a diary format.  The young fly tells an informative humorous story of his life. It is beautifully illustrated in an educational way.

Take a look at this page in the story.  It illustrates and explains that flies have two big eyes but can see many images at the same time.

*some info* (A fly has only two eyes. However they have compound lenses on their eyes which allow them to see more images at the same time )  When reading this story to a child, you can explain this to him/her.

This is a book in a series of three.  The other two book, which I also recommend, are “Diary of a Worm and Diary of a Spider.”
